FAQ

Here you will find the most frequently asked questions about our Luxury down duvets . If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Which down comforter is best for my sleeping needs?

The best down comforter depends on your individual sleeping habits. The appropriate warmth level, the quality of the down, and careful craftsmanship are crucial. A high-quality down comforter ensures a balanced sleeping climate and superior comfort – regardless of the season.

How can I recognize a high-quality down comforter?

You can recognize a high-quality down comforter by the following features:

  1. High down contentA high-quality blanket has a high proportion of pure goose down, which ensures optimal heat regulation and lightness.
  2. Filling capacityThe higher the fill power (often given in CUIN), the better the blanket insulates at a lower weight. The best fill power is from CUIN 700 upwards.
  3. Cassette quiltingThis construction keeps the down evenly distributed and prevents cold spots.
  4. Origin of the downDown from colder regions, such as Canada or Scandinavia, is generally of higher quality and fluffier.
  5. CertificatesLook for seals such as the “Downpass” or the “OEKO-TEX Standard 100”, which confirm sustainable and pollutant-free production.
How much fill weight should a high-quality down comforter have?

The ideal fill weight of a luxury down comforter depends on the season and personal preferences:

  • Summer down comforterApproximately 200-400 g, lightweight and breathable, ideal for warm nights.
  • All-season down comforter: 500-750 g, offers a good balance for different temperatures.
  • Winter down comforter700-1000 g, especially warm and cuddly, ideal for cold winter months.

It is important to note that not only the fill weight is decisive, but also theFilling capacitydown. High-quality down insulates better, so less fill weight is needed.

Are down duvets suitable for allergy sufferers?

Yes, our down duvets are allergy-friendly. They undergo special cleaning processes to minimize allergens. In addition, our down duvets are equipped with the NOMITE cover, which has been specially developed for allergy sufferers.

What is the difference between a down comforter and a feather comforter?

The main difference between a down comforter and a feather comforter lies in the filling material. Down is particularly fine, lightweight, and provides excellent thermal insulation at a low weight. Conventional feathers, on the other hand, are heavier but trap less air. A high-quality down comforter therefore usually offers greater sleeping comfort and better temperature regulation than a classic feather comforter.

Which down comforter is suitable for summer or winter?

Which down comforter is suitable for summer or winter depends on the fill weight and warmth rating. Summer down comforters are lighter in fill and particularly breathable, while winter down comforters contain more down and provide greater warmth. A high-quality down comforter is designed to offer optimal sleeping comfort for the respective season.

Luxury down duvets from Luxecosy – handcrafted in Germany

A high-quality down duvet combines comforting warmth with exceptional lightness. Fine down creates countless small air pockets that retain body heat while supporting a breathable sleep climate. This allows the duvet to settle gently around the body without unnecessary weight.

Our luxury down duvets are carefully handcrafted in a German manufactory. From selecting the down and balancing the fill weight to the precise quilting, every detail is tailored to the chosen warmth level and size. The result is a down duvet of manufactory quality that combines luxurious comfort with everyday practicality and durability.

What truly defines a high-quality down duvet

When buying a down duvet, fill weight should not be the only consideration. Quality depends on the interplay of several features:

  • Fill power: A high CUIN rating indicates voluminous down that can retain plenty of insulating air at a low weight.
  • Down content: A higher percentage of down generally creates a lighter, softer feel. High-quality 90/10 fillings can nevertheless provide excellent comfort.
  • Warmth level: The fill weight must suit the duvet size, bedroom temperature and personal warmth needs.
  • Quilting: Carefully designed quilting distributes the filling evenly and reduces unwanted cold spots.
  • Shell fabric: A fine, downproof fabric keeps the filling securely inside while supporting breathability.

Premium down duvets compared

Luxecosy offers different quality levels for a range of comfort preferences:

  • The Classic Down Duvet with 90% down and 10% feathers is a comfortable introduction to high-quality down duvets. At around 700 CUIN, it combines pleasant warmth with a slightly more noticeable weight.
  • The Premium Eiderdown-Type Duvet contains 100% wild duck down of the eiderdown type. Its fill power of approximately 750 to 800 CUIN creates a particularly airy and enveloping feel.
  • The Pure Goose Down Duvet is filled with 100% Münsterland goose down. At approximately 800 to 850 CUIN, it offers exceptional lightness and high thermal performance.
  • The Royal Eiderdown Duvet with 100% Icelandic eiderdown is the most exclusive quality in our range. More than 900 CUIN provides luxurious warmth at an exceptionally low weight.

This makes it easy to find either a lightweight luxury down duvet or a warmer luxury down duvet for particularly cool nights.

Buying a down duvet: Which warmth level is right?

Even the finest filling can only provide the desired comfort when the warmth level suits your bedroom. The right choice therefore depends not only on the quality of the down duvet, but also on when you use it, the room temperature and your personal warmth needs.

Our summer duvets are lightly filled for warm bedrooms. All-season duvets provide balanced warmth where room temperatures remain fairly consistent. If you tend to feel cold or your bedroom is cool, choose one of our winter duvets.

Unsure which option to choose? The Luxecosy warmth-level guide compares bedroom temperature, personal warmth needs and warmth classes.

Luxury down duvets in the right size

Choosing the right duvet size also contributes to restful sleep. A classic 135x200 cm down duvet is suitable for single beds and people of average height. A 155x220 cm luxury down duvet provides extra length and freedom of movement.

For couples, 200x200 cm, 200x220 cm and 240x220 cm are available. Our duvet size chart shows which option suits your height and bed.

Responsibly selected down

Luxecosy uses carefully selected down with traceable origins. Depending on the collection, the fillings include German goose down, wild duck down and Icelandic eiderdown. Certifications stated for the respective product, including DOWNPASS, OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and NOMITE, stand for tested quality, controlled origin and suitable shell fabrics.

Care for lasting fill power

Regular airing and gentle shaking help preserve the natural volume of the down. Wash the duvet only according to its product-specific care instructions and make sure it dries completely. Damp down can clump and permanently lose fill power.

All important steps are explained in our guide to washing and drying a down duvet.
